I remember growing up, I would hear over and over how friends wouldn’t be friends beyond certain points in my life. How there would be so many shifts in friends over the years that there was no need to try and commit to a specific group. I’d even hear people utter the words, “Who needs friends? I don’t.”
I am so, so happy that God created the first blueprint of friendship. I’m blessed to know that He’s called me friend so that I can know how to reciprocate the same actions to those I align with in the world (John 15:15) because, quit frankly, people need people.
I proclaim to you that friends, for me, are more like family. There’s no way that I could ever make it in life alone, and that’s why I’m honored to be friends with some of the most profound women.
My friends are God-fearing. Strong. Goal-oriented. They’re professionals. Entrepreneurs. Spouses. Witty. Beautiful. Loving. Loyal and consistent. Hard-working, yet possess healthy boundaries. They’re unique and assertive. They love life, fun and laughter. They love me...
Each one makes me better in her own way.
They’re the God-proven examples that friends are needed, folks. More like desired.
So yes, I need friends. The old. The new. The ones to come. No, everyone doesn’t deserve access to you, but don’t shun away those sent for a purpose.
I have friends, and I’m blessed through our connections.
Today, friends, know that my love for you runs deep...
